YOUR ROLE AT ZEGNA

As Senior Accountant, based in New York, you will bring your expertise in accounting, intercompany processes, and IFRS 16 lease accounting to the Accounting team. In this role, you will help ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision-making across our U.S. and Canadian entities.

You will play a key role in maintaining compliance, improving the efficiency of reconciliations and reporting processes, and delivering insights that directly support the business.

You’ll work closely with Senior Manager, Accounting to drive meaningful results and shape the way we work and grow.

HOW YOU BRING IT TO LIFE

Here’s how you’ll bring this role to life each day — making it your own and shaping it with your unique talents and expertise:

Oversee Retail Revenue Reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Manage intercompany accounting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations, ensuring all balances are accurate, fully supported, and free of discrepancies.
Apply technical expertise in IFRS 16 lease accounting, including reviewing lease agreements and assessing accounting implications under IFRS 16.
Prepare and review monthly rent schedules, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of rent expense.
Reconcile Managerial vs. Statutory Accounting discrepancies.
Prepare internal financial reports, including Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and other analyses as required.
Create and review Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations in accordance with Group policies and SOX compliance requirements.
Develop supporting schedules for financial reports submitted to the parent company via the "BPC" consolidation system.
Submit accurate financial reports to the parent company in a timely manner.
Prepare documentation for auditors and support audit processes.
Manage and mentor the Staff Accountant, providing guidance and supporting professional development.
Support leadership (Controller, COO, FP&A Director, and Parent Company) by posting journal entries as needed.
Adhere to and comply with SOX Controls and maintain compliance standards.
Provide accounting support for U.S. and Canadian subsidiaries (4 legal entities).
Assist with ad hoc projects and resolve ad hoc accounting matters as required.

WHO YOU ARE

This is how you show up:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required).
At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in within retail, luxury, fashion, or consumer goods.
Hands-on experience with SOX controls, internal controls, and audit support strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills required).
Experience with SAP is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and structure large volumes of data.
High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Results-driven, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams.

YOUR ZEGNA OFFER

The pay range for this position is $90,000–$100,000 annually and is dependent on a candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
